Samsung to bring Exynos 5440 quad-core SoC based on Cortex-A15

It’s a natural progression but if you were looking for some confirmation that Samsung will develop a quad-core SoC based on ARM Cortex-A15, here it is. Samsung’s Git kernel page has added support for Exynos 5440 that boasts four Cortex-A15 chips. It will be an upgrade to the Exynos 5250 that is a dual-core SoC based on Cortex-A15.

Rest of the details are still a mystery but we can be certain the SoC will have big.LITTLE processing technology that will use less powerful A7 cores for background tasks and powerful A15 cores for processor and graphic intensive tasks.
