We seldom cover air conditioners here on Tech Ticker but this one’s too good to pass. Seeing malaria as a big threat in African countries, LG has announced their first anti-mosquito AC in Nigeria. Basically, the AC takes advantage of the ultrasonic wave technology to repel mosquitos, which in their tests were able to deter about 82 percent of malaria-transmitting female Anopheles mosquitoes.
Furthermore, to address the erratic power supply, LG has also integrated Super Automatic Voltage Switcher (Super AVS) that prevents and protects compressor from getting damaged. The LG AC also comes with Tropical Compressor to cool in hotter climates and Plasmamaster air filter to remove bacteria and substances from the air.
No word if LG plans to release the AC outside Africa but the concept is pretty neat, irrespective of the location.
