SanDisk has confirmed that they’ve begun developing flash memory cards based on CFast 2.0 specification. The new specs were announced by the CompactFlash Association (CFA) and will enable faster performance compared to the CompactFlash memory cards.
CFA says the new card format will prove useful to professional photographers and videographers as it will be able to transfer data up to four times faster than CF cards. Theoretically, CFast 2.0 cards can transfer data up to 600MB/s.
SanDisk is currently sampling CFast2.0 memory cards to camera manufacturers.
