You seldom see chip manufacturers revealing which mobile phone companies will be using their hardware but Qualcomm has gone ahead and confirmed that LG is developing a smartphone that uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor. While the intrinsic details of the phone are not revealed, the phone will be available in South Korea in September followed by other regions.
China’s Xiaomi MI-2 is another device that is confirmed to use S4 Pro but the device won’t come out until October, which could make the Korean offering the world’s first to be powered by the S4 Pro APQ8064 chip.
LG currently has one quad-core phone on sale – the Optimus 4X HD and it is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor.
