The success of touchscreen-enabled feature phones was unprecedented when Android phones were available for over $300. However, things have changed now. We get better spec’d smartphones at under $200, which makes me wonder will these new feature phones stand a chance? We’re not sure but Samsung does reckon a market for it, which is why they’ve unveiled Star 3 and Star 3 Duos today – successor of its bestselling Star series.
Star 3 and Star 3 Duos are basically the same phones but the latter adds a dual-SIM functionality. On the features front, Star 3 comes with EDGE connectivity, 3-inch QVGA TFT LCD, 3.2MP camera with video recording support, music player, SoundAlive, 3.5mm headphone jack, Stereo FM with RDS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, ChatON mobile messenger, microSD card slot (up to 16GB) and 1000mAh battery.
Samsung hasn’t released the price but will sell the phones from late January starting from Russia.
