Failed to jump onto the cheap tablet bandwagon with the HP TouchPad? Well, it’s not exactly a firesale but a chance to get your dibs on a very affordable Android tablet. Admittedly not as superior built as the HP tablet but it is indeed a special one. MIPS Technologies, a California-based company will launch a $99 7-inch tablet that will run Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) OS.
Since price is the only thing it has to offer, don’t expect it to perform as good as another high-end ICS tablet (for instance, Asus’ Transformer Prime). The MIPS tablet is powered by an XBurst 1GHz CPU, Vivante GC860 GPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, front/rear cameras and microSD card slot.
