Research in Motion has reportedly stopped development of the larger-sized PlayBook, rumored to be known as PlayBook 2. According to N4BB, the 10-inch PlayBook’s development has been cancelled because the BlackBerry maker is now concentrating to roll out its first QNX-based BlackBerry smartphone.
The rumor also fuels some specs of the QNX-powered “Superphone” which will supposedly have a 1.2GHz single-core processor, 4.3-inch display with high resolution support. RIM might also go with a dual-core processor but not the one used in PlayBook since it is turning out to be a battery drainer.
Moreover, with the larger-sized PlayBook out of the way, RIM is also said to be preparing PlayBook’s LTE 4G variant for release sometime in October 2011.
