Looks like Samsung is having some display problems for its Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet. Apparently, ETNews claims that the release of the 8.9-inch tablet is being pushed due the low production of G1F touch-panel that uses one film layer less as compared to conventional GFF (Glass Fiber Filter). The G1F panel is currently used in devices like Wave II, Galaxy Player and Nexus S (I9023).
Furthermore, the Korean site also says that Samsung is looking to compensate the G1F scarcity by integrating GFF touch panel, which are 30-40 percent thicker and dimmer.
We can deal with a delay but sticking different displays for the same product is not good Sammy. Ask Nexus S users.
