Verizon today announced the availability and release date for the CDMA version of Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play phone. Users will be able to pre-order the phone from May 19 for a price of just $199.99 on a two-year contract.
The device is the world’s first PlayStation certified phone that sports the ubiquitous PlayStation control beneath the screen and comes pre-loaded with games like Madden NFL 11 (EA Sports), Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior (Digital Legends), Asphalt 6: Adrenaline (Gameloft), The Sims 3 (EA), Star Battalion (Gameloft), Crash Bandicoot (Sony PlayStation) and Tetris.
On the hardware side, the phone is powered by 1GHz Snapdragon II processor with Adreno 205 GPU, 4-inch display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5MP camera, GPS etc.
