Sony PS3 sales surpass 50m units

4 and a half years and Sony’s PS3 gaming console has finally reached the iconic milestone of 50 million PS3 units. As of March 29, 2011, Sony has managed to sell 50 million PS3s worldwide indicating the strong growth of the console since its launch in November 2006. Sony also confirmed that its PlayStation Move controller has surpassed 8 million units, which is now supported by over 155 games.

Sony’s PS3 console is powered by Cell Broadband Engine, supports Blu-ray discs, HDMI, 3D content and online gaming via PlayStation Network.
