Samsung is the first company to share its views on the potential impact after the iPad 2 announcement. Samsung Mobile’s VP, Lee Don-joo confirmed that Samsung might look to price its latest Galaxy Tab offering cheaper than what they initially expected. Samsung was initially expecting to price the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab higher than its 7-inch Tab but will apparently price the larger-sized tablet in the same range.
Samsung’s exec also didn’t mince any words when it came to comment about iPad’s thickness. He acknowledged the fact that Apple made the iPad 2 really thin and to make it as thin as the iPad, Samsung will “improve the parts that are inadequate.”
What improvements Samsung makes has to be seen but one thing’s for sure, iPad 2’s arrival has made the ongoing tablet war more fierce.
