Proporta Twisted System Speakers Review

Portable speakers for music devices and laptops are available aplenty, which is why companies try to lure consumers by offering a distinctive value to their products. We’ve checked out some uniquely-shaped but awesome sounding speakers in the past. Today we have a portable speaker from Proporta. The manufacturer claims that these speakers bring the same audio quality in a contemporary yet twisted package. Aptly called as the Twisted System, the portable speakers twist so as to give an easy sound direction.

Twisted System speakers are really lightweight and small. The pair weighs just 400 grams and each speaker measures 7x7x7cm. The speakers come in a matte black finish with chassis made entirely out of plastic which despite the use, gives it a premium look.

The speakers’ packaging consist of the speaker set, a USB cable and two 3.5mm audio cables for auxiliary-in and left speaker respectively.

Hooking the speakers is a piece of cake. Just connect the corresponding cables with the player, switch on the button (located at the bottom of the primary speaker) and you’re good to go. Well, that would be ideal in case you’re trying to attach it with a device like laptop that powers the speakers via USB 2.0 port. But if you’re not, Proporta has also made a provision to power the speakers via three AAA batteries. New set of AAA batteries will give you in excess of 10 hours of music, which can be tracked on the battery life indicator or just to to be on the safer side, there’s an extra compartment in the secondary speaker to house the extra AAA batteries.

Another advantage using batteries is that you can make the speaker work with any music player. You don’t have to rely on the USB power and can enjoy your favorite music anywhere and anytime.

Moving onto the performance, we would say the audio quality is good for its size. The volume is pretty loud with high audio fidelity but as you gain higher volume, you can hear some loss in audio quality. All in all, we would rate the audio quality very good for the size it comes in, which is also helped by the speakers’ angle.

So is it worth investing your $36? It’s a certain yes, if you’re willing to forgo some of its limitations like the lack of an integrated battery so that you don’t have to keep stocks of AAA battery; and its size, which is small but cannot be carried unless you have a laptop or a small bag at your discretion all the time.

It is available from Proporta from the link below.
