Creative jumps in the Android arena with ZiiO tablets and Zen Touch 2 PMP

Creative ZiiO

 

Creative is the latest company to announce its entry in the tablet business and have also unveiled their first PMP powered by the Android OS.

Creative will launch its ZiiO tablets in sizes of 7-inch (480×800) and 10-inch (1024×600) that will emphasize to deliver a complete entertainment experience. The tablets will come in capacities of 8 and 16GB and feature Android 2.1 OS, Bluetooth 2.1 with apt-X and A2DP support, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, HDMI-out, front facing camera, built-in mic / speaker, microSD card slot, variety of multimedia codec support and X-Fi audio enhancing technology. The tablets will also come with a Pure Android Audio app that will allow quick access to X-Fi, Bluetooth and other audio functions.

Creative will sell the 7-inch 8GB and 16GB ZiiO tablet for S$359 and S$389 whereas the 10-inch variant with similar size will sell for S$429 and S$459.

Creative Zen Touch 2

Creative also announced Zen Touch 2 PMP based on Android 2.1 OS. The PMP comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11n, speaker, accelerometer, 2MP camera, composite video-out microSD card slot and GPS, Digital compass and FM Radio available with an enhanced version.

The 8 and 16GB version sans GPS will cost S$279 and S$319 respectively whereas the 8GB player with GPS will sell for S$299.
