Videocon Mobiles today announced that they’ll launch their very first Android phone for the Indian market. It goes at a competitive price of Rs.12,900 and features decent specs like a 600MHz Qualcomm CPU, 3.2-inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display, 5MP camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, geo-tagging support, A-GPS, access to Android market, microSD card slot that is expandable to 32GB and 1230mAh battery.
One gripe with the phone is that it runs Android 1.6 out-of-the-box but Videocon says users will be able to update the OS to Android 2.1 over-the-air.
