Motorola has unveiled new Android devices for the Chinese market. The new devices belong to the MING Series that was created in 2006 specially for Chinese consumers with Chinese handwriting support. Three new phones announced today feature an improved MING flip design and the reminiscent transparent flip cover.
First is MT810 for China Mobile’s that supports TD-SCDMA network. The phone uses China Mobile’s customized Android OS aka OPhone OS 2.0 and features a dual-touch system 3.2-inch resistive display that is apt for stylus input or use the transparent cover to gain the advantages of capacitive. Other than that, the phone supports CMMB – China’s mobile TV format, D1 (720×480) video capture, 720p video playback and access to China Mobile’s app store.
Next up is XT806 for China Telecom that will work on CDMA2000 band. The phone runs on Android 2.1 and enjoys dual-standby support with CDMA and GSM. XT806 also has a 3.2-inch display (300dpi), GPS, 720p HD video capture and playback and built-in business applications.
Finally, it’s the A1680 for China Unicom. Supporting WCDMA network, the A1680 carries the true legacy of MING series and features a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, WAPI, 5MP camera, handwriting recognition and GPS.
