Indian Government might not ban Blackberry services on August 31 as Department of Telecommunications (DoT) will ask for a deadline extension. A senior official confirmed that DoT will most likely ask the government to extend the deadline because Research in Motion (RIM) needs time to give access to real-time data.
A team from RIM is currently in New Delhi to give a solution for interception but the decision is expected to be finalized on Monday.
RIM offered to create an industry forum that will provide lawful access to security agencies while protecting confidential data of corporations.
