iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users rejoice as Comex has released a browser solution to jailbreak your device running iOS 4. Just point the Safari browser from your iDevice to http://jailbreakme.com and slide to jailbreak. It will do the rest.
iPhone 4 users can also jailibreak the device and unlock (coming soon) it by downloading ultrasn0w from Cydia. The unlock currently works only for iPhone 3G and 3GS devices.
Some users are also facing issued with MMS and FaceTime. To resolve this, users should restore a backup of the device or update the Cydia after the update.
UPDATE: I managed to jailbreak my iOS 4 running iPod touch 8GB (MC model). I was stuck on the 2nd screen after you slide for quite a few times but managed to do it by trying out the following way.
– Restart the iPod touch.
– Sync iPod with iTunes.
– Open the original or mirror link (http://jailbreakme.modmyi.com) from your Safari browser. I tried with the mirror link.
– If everything goes well, it should start downloading and jailbreak the device.
– If not, repeat it.
– Cydia will be added to your homescreen.
PS: For those who’re wondering, jailbreak is legal. At least in US.
