We had our doubts when Apple offered a software solution for its iPhone 4 antenna problem but now it has been proved. Consumer Reports tested three iPhone 4s in their radio frequency (RF) isolation chamber and their conclusion is that the death grip is related to hardware than software. In fact, they also say that AT&T’s cellular coverage has nothing to do with them.
The solution? CR suggests the antenna can be covered with a duct tape where it won’t come in contact with the skin or you could buy an iPhone 4 bumper that goes for $30.
