Although most companies are jumping onto the tablet bandwagon, Taiwanese phone maker HTC is not interested in launching a tablet yet. Eric Lin, PR executive for HTC said they won’t release a tablet unless they’ve found something “compelling” to give to the consumers. Lin also told that most tablets are powered by Android and an HTC tablet with the same OS would be just another Android tablet, which is what they don’t want.
“We are always looking at it, but, right now, the whole idea is that in order to be successful with a tablet, you need to have something compelling. And not just a compelling form factor. You need to find that compelling use, that compelling story, that one compelling feature. And we are not going to do anything until we have found that”
