Skype has released a new version of their VoIP app that will allow users to carry out calls via 3G, in addition to Wi-Fi. This means all Skype users on iPhone will now be able to make and receive Skype-to-Skype calls and calls to mobiles and landlines over their existing 3G connection.
This service, however won’t be free, at least after 2010. After the trial period — that will run till end of 2010 — will be over, Skype will announce pricing details for those who want to enjoy Skype calling over 3G.
Other new features the application has is the near-CD quality sound, enhanced call quality indicator and is faster.
