In a bid to distinguish PS3 as more than a gaming console, Sony has entered into an agreement with Time Warner to allow its PS3 users to download shows from Warner’s HBO network.
The intrinsic partnership details are under wraps but the agreement will allow PS3 users to download episodes from 11 HBO series for some fee. For instance, episodes of True Blood will be available for $2.99 whereas most other Series episodes will cost 99 cents. Sony will add the HBO content to the PlayStation Network every Tuesday.
Sony currently offers Netflix streaming and Major League Baseball games from MLB.TV on PS3.
