Indian 3G Auction finally ends, Govt. will earn about Rs. 70,000Cr

Indians can expect high-speed 3G services by end of this year as the spectrum auction for the same has been completed. The auction took 34 days and 183 rounds to end that will earn the Government a whopping Rs.70,000 crores, more than double what the government expected to collect.

Seven operators manage to win some spectrum across 22 circles. Operators that will provide 3G services in different regions are as follows:

Delhi – Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance
Mumbai – Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance
Maharashtra – Tata, Idea, Vodafone
Gujarat – Tata, Idea, Vodafone
Andhra Pradesh – Bharti Airtel, Idea, Aircel
Karnataka – Tata, Aircel, Bharti Airtel
Tamil Nadu – Aircel, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone
Kolkata – Vodafone, Aircel, Reliance
Kerala – Idea, Tata, Aircel
Punjab – Idea, Reliance, Tata, Aircel
Haryana – Idea, Tata, Vodafone
Uttar Pradesh (E) – Aircel, Idea, Vodafone
Uttar Pradesh (W) – Bharti Airtel, Idea, Tata
Rajasthan – Reliance, Bharti Airtel, Tata
Madhya Pradesh – Idea, Reliance, Tata
West Bengal – Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance, Aircel
Himachal Pradesh – Bharti Airtel, STel, Idea, Reliance
Bihar – STel, Aircel, Reliance
Orissa – STel, Aircel, Reliance
Assam – Bharti Airtel, Aircel, Reliance
