The only acknowledgement of the 3DS console from Nintendo came a month back saying it would be shown at E3 in June and will launch during the fiscal year ending March 2011. Now CVG is claiming that according to few UK industry sources they spoke to, Nintendo is looking to launch the 3DS in October this year.
This revelation, CVG says, is surprise to many since most of them were expecting the console sometime near Christmas but it will now be like 3 months ahead of the big holiday season.
“In my experience, you don’t launch a product that early to Christmas unless you’re confident in it – and going to spend a lot of money on it. We’re reassured that Nintendo is going to give it some decent backing in Q4,” said one of the sources.
The exact date is still a mystery but CVG pins for a 10/10/10 release.
