Sony will launch “division two” VAIO notebooks soon. Division two, you ask? Is it a new range? Well, not exactly a new range but it will be VAIO laptops designed and manufactured by their partners. Ryosuke Akahane, deputy president of Sony VAIO’s Business Group told PC Pro that the laptops that will be created and built by Sony will be segregated under division one whereas division two will have the “taste of VAIO and style of VAIO” but will be Sony approved and be powered by older technologies, which division one VAIO laptops have already taken advantage of.
Sony is clearly for market share so don’t be surprised if they’re priced aggressively.
