Here’s an interesting fact revealed by Sony Ericsson’s CEO, Bert Nordberg recently. An interview with Swedish site Sydsvenskan, he claimed that Google initially approached them to make a Nexus One before settling with HTC. But despite seeing it as an opportunity, SE replied negatively because making phones for someone else wasn’t SE very keen of and could also pose a threat to its brand name. Paranoid? Yes, it was justified if you were at the top but when a company is ailing, subcontracting for someone could help financially and not to forget, grab some market share. Anyways, Nordberg knows best and hopefully he did the right thing.
