Seagate starts shipping Savvio 10K.4 HDD for enterprise users

Seagate has started shipping the world’s highest capacity 2.5-inch HDDs meant for enterprise clients. The 600GB Savvio 10K.4 boasts enterprise-class features like Protection Information, self-encryption, PowerChoice to optimize power consumption during idle mode and has an outstanding 2 million hours Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) reliability rating.

Seagate reckons the Savvio 10K.4 HDDs can greatly help organizations to reduce their total cost of ownership as it helps to double the performance and decrease power consumption by 50 percent compared to 3.5-inch HDDs.
