LG has proudly announced that its LD100 LTE modem is the first LTE device to receive Telecom Engineering Center (TELEC) certification, which is required by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC).
This approval not only means LG’s device adheres to Japanese Radio Law technical regulations but will also allow LG to field trial with NTT DoCoMo (and sell when services go live). The operator plans to provide LTE service later this year.
Two other LTE devices – LEO3 and M13 from LG have received approval from FCC in the past.
