Just like it happened early this year when someone spilled HTC’s 2009 roadmap, here we’ve someone from XDA-Developers forum doing the honors for the upcoming year. The roadmap, if true, confirms 8 new phones, including a power packed flagship Bravo and also that Android is the preferred OS for next year.
HTC has segregated its line under 4 categories – Design/Lifestyle, Social, Performance and Productivity.
Design/Lifestyle:
This category houses two phones dubbed as Legend and Salsa. Legend is said to follow the footsteps of Hero and will come in a metallic frame, Sense UI and an clickable optical mouse key. Its remaining specs include quad-band GSM, 3G, 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive AMOLED touchscreen, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and microSD card slot.
The Salsa on the other hand is shiny and slim QWERTY candybar phone with a touch of various social networking sites. This one too runs on Android and features 3G, touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, 3.2MP camera, A-GPS, microSD slot.
Social:
On the social front, the line consists of Tide (above) and Buzz (below). Both enjoy quick access to various social networking sites but Tide seems cheaper compared to Buzz due to its mediocre specs. Tide has a 2.6-inch touchscreen display, 3.2MP camera, alphanumeric keypad and host of other features. Buzz sports a full touchscreen interface coupled with Sense UI and customizable battery covers.
Performance:
The Performance line comprises of only one handset called as the Bravo. It will be the flagship for HTC for next year and going by the specs, it is worthy enough to be known as flagship. It will run Android OS and will be powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, 5MP autofocus camera with flash and 720p video recording, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth and microSD card slot. By far, it looks to be the most superior Android till date.
Productivity:
Finally, this line consists of WinMo phones – Photon (above), Trophy (2nd from below) and Tera (1st from below). All the phones run WinMo 6.5 with more or less the same features. Photon sports a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, microSD, TouchFLO 3D and 600MHz CPU. Trophy and Tera are also similarly spec’d with Trophy settling for a 3-inch VGA touchscreen and a tad larger battery capacity and Tera with a smaller 3.2MP camera.
