Sony Ericsson dropped three phones for the Indian consumers – Satio, Aino and Yari. All these phones were unveiled earlier this year but the commercial availability is in Q4 2009, which fortunately, India is also a part of. However, the unfortunate thing to happen with the announcement is the price, at least for Satio.
Satio will sell for Rs. 35,950 and if you’re unaware of SE’s offerings, here’s a rerun of the specs. It is Sony Ericsson’s first phone to sport 12.1 megapixel camera and comes with rich set of photography features like Xenon flash, video light, touch and auto focus, image stabilizer, smile/face detection and more. The rest of the specs comprises of a 16:9 3.5-inch touchscreen display, S60 5th Edition OS, Wi-Fi, 3D Games, FM Radio, A-GPS and microSD slot.
The features are undoubtedly superior but compare it with its closest competitor, which is Pixon12 (Rs. 29,990), the price seems too high.
Aino is touchscreen slider phone with streaming capabilities. With the help of integrated Wi-Fi, Aino can be connected to PS3 via Remote Play and stream multimedia content or use Media Go to stream PC content to phone. Additional qualities include 3-inch screen, 8.1MP camera, A-GPS, Bluetooth, microSD card slot. Retail price is Rs. 28,950.
Finally Yari, another slider device emphasizes on motion gaming. It comes with games like boxing, tennis etc. that can be played via – you guessed it right – hand gestures. Apart from that it has a 5MP camera, 3G, A-GPS, music player, FM Radio with RDS, Bluetooth and microSD card slot. It will sell for Rs. 16,950.
Price in India says
Sony ericsson Yari has a great 5 megapixel camera, music player with a 3G connectivity, GPS and of course several games. It has 2.4 inch TFT screen supports 16M colors with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.
