This is not the first time Ballmer’s comments have created confusion so it’s not surprising Microsoft trying to retract what he said in the recent interview. Ballmer said Blu-ray accessory would be offered as an add on but Major Nelson from the Xbox team has jumped in to try clear things up. Apparently, Ballmer meant Blu-ray accessories for the PC and not Xbox. Yes, I know its weird but maybe not mentioning Xbox in the statement saved Ballmer.

We would still want Blu-ray to be a part of Xbox but Microsoft is inclined to provide Blu-ray quality videos via Netflix streaming.
