LG has introduced WIDEBOOK, which I assume comes from the fact that every notebook in this series sports a widescreen 16:9 display. There are five models in this range – R580/R560, R480/R460 and R380 that features the aforesaid WIDEBOOK capability but with different screen sizes of 15.6-inch (R580/R560), 14-inch (R480/R460) and 13.3-inch (R380) and also supports HD resolution (1600×900 and 1368×768 depending on the model).
The notebooks are powered by a Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GPU, optional 3G, 1.3MP webcam, HDMI and e-SATA port. As for specific model features, R580 comes with a Blu-ray drive and R380 is equipped with Smart On that boots the machine in under five seconds for quicker access to internet, docs, music and other files.
The WIDEBOOKs will be available from this month starting from Turkey, Dubai and Saudi Arabia followed by other regions.
