MSI has confirmed to launch a touchscreen netbook that will be powered by Pine Trail, Intel’s next-gen Atom platform. The 10-inch Wind U150 will be one of the first netbooks with Pine Trail platform and will run Windows 7. Internal tests at MSI have shown Pine Trail netbooks to improve graphics performance and around 20 percent better power consumption.
In addition U150, MSI will also bring 12-incher Wind U210 but will be powered by AMD’s Yukon platform. Destined to come to US in early September, MSI will sell it in two variants – one with XP, 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD for $379 and another with same specs but Vista Home Premium OS for $429.
