Depending on the type of display, touchscreen phones can either give the high sensitivity of capacitive or accuracy of resistive screen. RIM has already applied for a patent to give the best of both worlds and it looks like HTC is following the suit but in a different way. The recent patent application reveals that HTC is looking to provide stylus operation on a capacitive display. Exact functioning is not clear but the tip of the stylus will be somewhat magnetically charged that will get registered as a finger touch. Looks like accuracy on capacitive displays won’t be too much to ask in the near future.
