In addition to the S1000pj announcement, Nikon also brought three more point-and-shoot cameras aimed at different market segments. The S570 goes for the first time digital camera crowd who wants a hassle free shooting experience. The 12 megapixel camera features 5x wide-angle Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens, ISO 3200, 2.7-inch LCD Display, 4-way VR Image Stabilization System, Scene Auto Selector Mode, Smart Portrait System and movie mode. It will be available from September for $199.95.
Next up is S640 that is touted to have the fastest start-up of around 0.7 seconds and short shutter release time lag. Regarding other features, the camera has a 12.2 megapixel sensor, 5x wide-angle NIKKOR lens, ISO from 100-6400, 2.7-inch Clear Color LCD, Subject Tracking and all the features from S570. S640 will be on sale from September for $249.95.
Finally, it’s the S70 that has two distinct additions than the rest of the lineup. It carries a 3.5-inch capacitive OLED touchscreen and has the ability to record videos at 720p HD resolution. However, other features are more or less the same – 12.1 megapixel resolution, 5x wide-angle NIKKOR lens, ISO up to 6400, 5-way VR image stabilization and more. The S70 too will make its way out in September carrying a price tag of $399.95.
