It took a while for the recession to bug to hit Dell’s Adamo line but here it is finally. They have lowered the starting price of Adamo by $500 matching Apple’s thin Macbook Air pricing. The base “Admire” configuration starts from $1499 and in fact, is true to its name as there is nothing to admire internally but it’s only for the looks you’ll be paying for.
Nevertheless, the base config includes 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS, 2GB RAM and 128GB SSD. If you’ve got more money to splurge, there’s a “Desire” configuration that will set you back by $2299 and will give a 1.4GHz CPU, 4GB RAM and an integrated mobile broadband slot.
It’s good news if you’ve always craved for this anorexic notebook but when you compare feature by feature with Macbook Air, it suddenly makes Adamo look pricey even at a reduced price point.
