LG has brought a new external USB HDD that also comes with pre-installed multimedia codecs and requisite ports. Load the movies, hook it to your TV via integrated HDMI or Composite A/V port and you’re all set. The drive comes in capacities of 320GB and 500GB and features various codec support like MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AVI, DivX for video and OGG Vorbis, MP3, AC3, WMA, WAV, AAC for music. Sadly, there’s no H.264 or MKV support and also it does not support full HD content (only up to 1080i).
No word on the pricing or availability yet.
