We have heard it a number of times in the past but this time, it looks serious. A report by Nikkei claims that Sony is planning to setup a dedicated team to develop a phone that could integrate PlayStation’s gaming prowess along with Sony Ericsson’s cellular features. Of course, this rumor had to be a reality by now but maybe Sony’s complacency had to be blamed. It somehow seems to be a reactive move to combat the onslaught of iPhone and iPod Touch.
If you recall, SE’s Aino provides some PlayStation support via Remote Play and if Sony does pull out a PS phone, it could be a great benefit to the users as well as SE phones, who are actually struggling to lure new customers.
