Olympus has made its Micro Four Thirds camera official. The E-P1, also known as Digital PEN is named after Olympus’ vintage PEN series and packs decent features. The convenience of point-and-shoot and DSLR-like features makes this camera worth talking about. It can shoot at a 12.3 resolution along with a high sensitivity exposure going from ISO 100 to 6400, TruePic V image processor, image stabilizer and 20 different shooting modes.
Other features it includes are a 3-inch LCD claiming to have a 100 percent color accuracy, HD video (720p) recording with an option to playback on HDTVs via the included HDMI port, Supersonic Wave Filter to remove dust and other particles from the sensor and SDHC storage support.
Olympus will start selling the camera body from this month for $749.99 while EP-1 with ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko digital zoom lens will cost $799.99. The EP-1 and ED 17mm f2.8 and optical viewfinder bundle will go for $899.99.
