iSuppli, popular for giving down the estimates of gadgets has now set its eye on the yet to be released Palm Pre. By comparing to the Q2 component and assembly pricing, they have concluded that Pre takes around $170 to make, which includes $138 of hardware cost, under $10 of manufacturing and basic test costs and around $23 for the licensing costs. As with its previous estimates, this one also does not include shipping, marketing, R&D et al costs.
The price and the release date are still not out but iSuppli analysts reckon it to be around $200 with operator subsidies as it will try to combat the mighty iPhone.
