Intel recently unveiled the Westmere family of processors at an event in San Francisco. The Westmere family chips are based on Nehalem’s architecture fabricated on 32nm technology and will cater to the desktop with Clarkdale as well as laptop market with Arrandale line of processors. In addition to the 32nm fabrication, these chips also benefit from a 45nm GPU and memory controller integrated on the same die.
The first wave of 32nm processors are scheduled to come in Q4 of this year while a 32nm Gulftown packed with six cores will launch in 2010.
