Hot on the heels of PSP getting updated to v5.03, Sony also announced PS3 getting a software upgrade too. The v2.60 concentrates on the media capabilities of the console. It adds the support for DivX 3.11 files and guest access to the PlayStation Store. However, the major change in this firmware is the Photo Gallery application. Pictures can now be arranged according to various criteria like the camera used, facial expression, date/time, age etc. The application also integrates slideshow with background music feature. Photo Gallery application can only be installed from the XMB after firmware update.
