Asustek’s onslaught with low cost computer continues. This time, they have launched B203, an Eee Box that is powered by an Intel Celeron C220 processor instead of the customary Atom one. The reason being speculated is that Atom processors are mainly built for small mobile devices and with the rising demand of the netbooks, it has become necessary for them to allocate these Atom processors for the netbooks.
Thus, enter Intel’s slower chip, the Celeron C220 which runs at a clock speed of 1.2GHz. Other specifications remain the same as B202 except for storage option and memory, which now goes up to 160GB and 2GB respectively.
B203 runs Windows XP Home and features 802.11n, Ethernet, 4-in-1 card reader, 4 USB ports, 1 DVI port, mic in, headphone-out and line-out.
No word on the pricing but it will be more or less the same since B203 leverages the slower processor with an expanded memory.
