The marketing whizzes at Lenovo thought of something new to sell their netbook. They rebranded the IdeaPad S10 to IdeaPad S10e albeit with some minor changes to garner interest from students.
The S10e has a 10.1-inch display with a choice of running Windows XP or SUSE Linux. It also has a Splash Top powered Quick Start functionality enabling the user to quickly check e-mail, surf internet or playback multimedia content without the need to boot the computer.
S10e has the same Intel Atom processor, unspecified amount of RAM but we presume it to be 1GB and storage option of 160GB HDD or 4GB SSD. Other conventional features it includes are the webcam, LAN, Wi-Fi, optional Bluetooth, USB ports, card reader and an ExpressCard slot.
Lenovo will provide a lot of customization options in terms of hardware, software and even flexible warranties to schools. S10e will start selling by the end of November through its education sales and business partners.
