Environment friendly devices are the new rage in electronics arena. And the newest addition is SimpleTech [re]drive from Fabrik. The company has tried to make its product eco-friendly in every aspect. Starting from its chassis, it is made up of a combination of recyclable aluminum for durability and bamboo wood to make it sustainable. Going under the hood, we can find turbo USB 2.0 support which means it is 25 percent faster than the conventional USB 2.0 drives and 90 percent less power consumption over the life of the drive. That’s 475 lbs of CO2 less emitted in the atmosphere. It also bundles an Energy Star Level 4 adaptor further helping to keep the electricity consumption low.
The 500GB drive will retail at a price of $160.
