Makers of budgetary consumer appliances, Videocon has shown interest in buying Motorola’s ailing handset manufacturing unit. The announcement comes after Motorola has decided to separate its mobile handset unit as a different company which has reported major losses in the previous financial year.
Videocon’s Venugopal Dhoot thinks that this buy out will help his company as they are investing Rs. 6000 crores ($1.5 billion) for setting up telecom services and also its consumer electronics retail store which counts for more than 1000 all over India will help them to sell the phones comfortably.
