We all know RIM’s BlackBerry is a great service for executives, enabling them to make their office mobile. But you’ll may not know is that Union Ministry in India is considering a ban on selling & using BlackBerry services. The reason behind this is that BB serves the requested data to the user in an encrypted format which makes it impossible for the ministry to intercept data giving an opportunity to the terrorists to communicate freely.
This shocker came when Tata Teleservices submitted an application to sell BB services in India but was rejected. Ironically other service operators are already selling these services for more than a year. The decision is still awaited but RIM surely wouldn’t want to lose half a million subscribers if this ban is implemented.
