What was gPhone few months ago is now officially known as Android. It is an open source mobile platform that consists of an operating system, middleware, user-friendly interface and applications. It has been formed by an alliance of the bigwigs like Google, HTC, Motorola, T-Mobile and many more and is known as Open Handset Alliance.
Google will be releasing its first SDK on November 12 to give the developers a freedom to create their own apps. According to the release, the consumers will have wait till the second half of 2008 to use Android powered phones. Check out the introductory video of Android after the jump.
