You all must be knowing that a special Apple event is underway and Steve Jobs has unveiled new lines of iPods. First is the fatty iPod Nano. The new Nano will come in 4GB or 8GB version with 2-inch QVGA screen and can now play videos. Other features include improved UI with Cover Flow, 3 bundled games (Vortex, Sudoku and one more) and 24 hours of audio playback or 5 hours of video playback.
The price of the 4GB Nano is $149 and 8GB for $199.
Moving on to the 5th gen iPods, they have renamed it as iPod Classic. The iPod Classic boasts a full metallic design, same UI as Nano Video and thinner than the previous line. Another addition is the 160GB iPod Classic which can store up to 40,000 songs. The 160GB iPod can play up to 40 hours of audio and 7 hours of video. That’s pretty impressive! The price of 80GB and 160GB are $249 and $349 respectively.
Newest member in the iPod family is the iPod Touch which looks and functions exactly like the iPhone but is sans calling capabilities. iPod Touch is thinner than iPhone at just 8mm, has a vivid 3.5″ screen, Multitouch and most importantly has Wi-Fi. It supports Youtube videos, a built-in Safari browser and . The iPod Touch will come in same storage options of 8GB ($299) and 16GB ($399). iPod Touch has a battery life of 22 hours (audio) and 5 hours for videos.
