Sony has unveiled the new PSP at the ongoing E3 conference. The successor of the portable console is now 30% lighter and 19% slimmer. Most of the features in PSP 2 remain the same like the UMD support and 4.3-inch LCD screen but there are some new things to rave about. Firstly it will have a faster processor operating at 333MHz clock speed, a cache memory for loading games faster and the inclusion of video-out port. This will enable the user to play games or watch movies on a bigger screen.
The new PSP will hit the shelves in September in US, Japan and Europe for $199 and will come in two choices – piano black and ice silver. Sony also hinted about special editions coming out like the Star Wars Edition in white and Darth Vader etched on it.
