Sony’s much awaited price cut for PS3 came yesterday. And today analysts are guesstimating the next move of Microsoft regarding Xbox 360 prices. According to Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Morgan predicts that there will be a reduction of $50 in the Core and Premium editions while an $80 reduction in the Elite model.
Reduction in price for 360 can only be possible with lower production costs on which MS is currently working on. Codenamed as Falcon, this project would mean that new Xbox 360s will be equipped with a 65nm CPU and GPU chips instead of 90nm ones used currently. Falcon can significantly reduce the prices but has MS started to implement it?
